Quote of the Day

"Was it his butt or his heart?"

Pet Peave

This is the worst offense. It makes me want to throw up in my mouth. This is right up there with touching a towel to my teeth.

Helping or Hindering?

Meet Bobby. Last name BinLaden. I often think he should ask himself, "Am I helping or hindering?" DJW is laboring over her knitting for someone less fortunate, and BinLaden is thinking to himself, "I wonder if this person is allergic to cats..."

The Hub

BFF's fam is in town this week. Yes, I realize that almost all pics taken at my house are in this same spot. It's the HUB.

Verbal Ninja

Easy PETA lovers, mess with her and she'll verbally f you up (as shown in photo). Note the vintage cell phone. It's real old school. It's way bigger than our cordless phone in our house. HOLLA

Debbie Downer

Sorry no posts on Halloween. I was Debbie Downer, literally.

Job security

I saw this guy on Lookout Mountain today.

More Cowbell

Do any of my virtual friends recognize these guys? They're one of my top 5 favorite bands, the Subdudes. They were on our flight with us to Minneapolis. I know what you're thinking...if they're sooooo good, why are they riding coach? They're staying connected with their peeps, keeping it real.
We had a horrible landing experience, and I wanted to ask them if they would just acco-pello that song "Save Me".

Instead of requesting a song, I went ahead and jumped right into my role as a life coach and I offered some unsolicited advice.
I said to the guy sitting next to me, "Are you one of the Subdudes?"

He of course was flattered and said "Yes".

"I love your sound. But you know what you guys could use? A little more cowbell. Are you playing in St. Paul tonight?...Well I promise, you won't regret using more cowbell."
I have a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Just a normal landing

My bro and I flew to Minneapolis yesterday. We had a near-death experience. Our plane was circling the Minneapolis airport for about 30 minutes and i just knew something had gone awry. The pilot tells us that the flaps that are used to slow the plane down during the landing, are not working. He tries to reassure us that the landing is going to be normal, other than the fire trucks lining the runway. This picture is just one of the 30ish fire trucks on scene. I was making all sorts of empty promises.
I just kept picturing the nightly news headlines, "SUBDUDES go down in plane crash". The news might mention the mother and infant sitting in front of us, but my brother and I probably wouldn't get the airtime we deserve in the 10 o'clock news. I'm a nervous flyer anyway, but this was over the top.

Extra pair

BFF talked me into packing an extra pair of underwear for my trip. Good thing, cuz that was a treacherous landing. She's way smarter than me.

David S.

I've been listening to David Sedaris on my i-pod while I've been painting the past couple of days. He really lifts my spirits. He's an obsessive-compulsive, Jewish, gay author. Anyone with that many adjectives in front of their occupation is bound to be more f'd up than me.

You got game bro

My bro and I went to Velo Swap today. We had vendor passes which allowed us to get in before the crowd and really rifle through stuff before anyone else. I was totally panicked. I bought a couple of things out of shear terror. When we were leaving, big bro said he was real glad that we got in early cuz things weren't so "picked over".
He purchased:
a retro bike sac complete with reflector for $1
a pannier rack for $5

Well played Trav

We still look good together

Meet my high school boyfriend and Prom date, Justin. We should have done the uncomfortable "prom pose" for old-time sake.

The Cottage

I went to Velo Swap today. The first person I see when I walk in is Nancypants. What a treat. 2nd person is fellow blogger and racer friend Sparky. They were working the Vitamin Cottage booth. Nice work with the banana chips and smiles ladies.
BFF and I had a long overdue dinner date with friends tonight. We laugh, we cry and we tell each other our dreams...From the left: Me, Tiffany, BFF, Robin, Melanie, Lori.
M & T blew out our sprinklers yesterday. They're real handy. I just dress like I'm handy, but I'm not.

Firgie

"Firgie, for neat, you've got something on your tooth!" (Said with a thick Midwest accent.)
One of my favorite people in the whole world is leaving the planet. I love you Firgie and I'm gonna miss the heck out of you. You did the Peppermint Paddy Dance better than anyone I know.

Does Apple sell breath-a-lizers?

So I starting painting inside the house today. It was off the HINGES. The beer seriously helps me focus. Is that a red flag? That is why I look like Jay Leno in the pic.
And again, I find myself drinking and blogging. Does Apple sell breath-a-lizers? Before you log on, you have to blow into the tube, which is monitored by a bunch on nerds and they decide whether or not you are OK to blog. They would make a killing.

Outraged

OK peeps. Who in the hell is buying Brittney Spears new album? "Gimme More" has been in the top ten for the last month!

D to the E to the L-i-c-i-o-u-s

These are 2 great views I saw from my bike today.
On another note, I think over half of my caloric intake today was from cereal.

How much for the Q-tips?

Dawn the great is learning us how to decorate our grown-up house with "big girl furniture". She found this lady on Craigslist that was moving out of her pimpin loft and wanted to get rid of everything. She was selling stuff for real cheap. I really embarrass myself in those situations. I was like the lady at the garage sale looking at a sweater that costs .25 cents, and she offers a nickel. We start grabbing all of these wicker baskets and their contents, as shown in photo, and insult her with a ridiculous price. We finally agree on a sale price, and of course I only have large bills and she needs to make change. Classy.

Hey Lady!

Dawn's face tells it all..."What else can we buy?"

Caught red handed

BFF and Dawn the Great look like they just got caught stealing.

hrrrmmph

Virtual Readers write this down. Do not open the sunroof after a snowfall.

the dilemma...

I frequently come home from work tired and ask myself, "self, do you want a nap or coffee?" It's one or the other. Today I made the right choice with coffee. MMMMM

Sean and his twin

I ran into Sean PP and his twin sister at the coffee shop today. If I were a twin, I would demand that we dress alike whenever together. Think about it PP.
I should be a life coach. I am real good a offering unsolicited advice. Like in the grocery store the other day, I just told a lady to buy the Tide with Bleach instead of the one with softener.

Finally, the off-season

The first day of snowfall, (did anyone enter a snowflake contest?) and the off-season training begins. This beauty is gonna get me to my fighting weight. You can see that she has less that 9000 miles on her, and an egg timer that lasts for 59 minutes. That'll be perfect, then I'll go chase chickens out in the yard.

SR

We had Sexy Rachel over for dinner last night. She is my longest-time friend from my childhood. I'll post some of those pics later.
She's all grown up and stuff now. She's a Therapist. She's not my Therapist though. Well not officially. I think we had a good session last night Rachel. And Virtual Readers, don't be too quick to judge, she never once asked me "the Miracle Question". We basically had the same childhood, so maybe we should go to the same shrink and split the cost. Think about it SR.

I be grillin' yo

Check out my grill yo.

Rita G's

BFF and I got waxed today at Rita J's. I call her Rita Glaucoma cuz she can't see very well and her attention to detail is atrocious.
From the left: Number 8, Lil' Tim, Me, D-Money. I'm pretty sure that I'll get a lot done today.

FUBU

This is a breakfast that was designed For Us By Us (FUBU)

Lawn Disasters

I got to spend the day with my boyfriend. We have soooo much in common and always have lots to talk about. He is passionate about mowing lawns. We spotted his competition today sitting outside a liquor store at 10 am. Big trailer small mower guy has nothing on you Lil' Tim.

I work at the greatest gym in the world. It's called "PUSH". It's conveniently located right across the hallway from a bridal shop. "Girl, you are never gonna fit in that dress...get on over to the gym and work on your fitness."

Supersize Gluten

These are a few of the items that L brought home in the past couple of days to support me in my new diet. Oatmeal cookies, yummy square bars, choco crepe, and 2 boxes of crap my shammy cereal (flax is nature's little broom).

Money's no object circus

The circus really tired K-man out. He did score a $12 elephant though.

K-Man

L took K-man to the circus last weekend, he was thrilled.

tight jeans...

Dear sales lady,
If you're reading this, you were right. You hardly notice my thighs with the "extra low-rise" jeans. They were a huge hit with BFF. And for those of you that remember the tight jean debockle from last year, it was a nice recovery by her tonight. Now I just need to figure out where the shaving begins and ends...hrrrmmmph
Sorry, no pics of the jeans just yet.

Dawn the Great

Dawn the great, aka K-man's mom, found us a bunch-o-furniture for our new house for cheap. This is me acting like I'm real handy (and acting like I'm left-handed) putting this dresser together.

upside down day

It was upside down day, well sort of. French toast and eggs for lunch. Oh, and coffee.

Ellen

I wore my Ellen boxers as a tribute to her for keeping it real yo. Firgie was wrong, big girls do cry and we love you for it E.

Ellen

Keep on keeping it real Ellen.

drinking and blogging

SRW and I hit the beers and the blogging hardd tonight.

Rocktober!!!

BFF is very excited about the Rockies. That's Codie on her shoulder (short for Codependent). I would be more into the Rockies if I were "rockternal". I wish they played at noon.

painting...

What do I do with all of my time off you ask? I'm painting this week. It feels really funny to take pictures of myself, but I'm getting used to it, and now I kind of like it. This blogging thing is pretty fun. Not like "my space". That's lame. It should be called "your space". Other people can post their pics and stuff. Not here, no way, this is about me. Oh, I've really been enjoying the "comment" section of my BLOG. Thanks to my virtual friends for writing in.

rookie blogger

Finally, the helmet picture you have all been waiting for. You can see the concentration that it takes to pull off such an advanced maneuver. Yep readers, that's snow behind me.

Sharon

Sharon came to visit me at work before her hockey game. She bought shoes that are 2 different sizes, as you can tell from the photo. Funny thing is, I tried on the matching pair and didn't buy them because they were 2 different sizes!!! We're gonna go buy that other pair and reunite them. Her name isn't actually Sharon, I just think we share a brain sometimes.
I'd like to give a shout out to my boy JC (not Jesus Christ...well O.K him too). Sharon's playing "etch-a-sketch", and JC is real happy to have after dinner coffee and a visitor.
