Alex's buddies

Alex was all the envy of the little girls during our shopping trip today.
She had sunglasses, and they wanted them. The little girl with that disgruntled look on her face says it all.
(Shortly after this picture was taken, I saw their parents in the sunglass section of REI.)

Her future's so bright...

Alex shopped with her Hello Kitty sunglasses on for almost 2 hours today. She ran up and down the aisles, and never looked back for Mama.
Her future's so bright...she's gotta wear shades.

The Human Wrecking Ball

Our little human wrecking ball was hard at work today at REI.

summer please...

I was determined to get Alex out of the house today and out for a walk. By the time she got up from her "winter slumber", the sun was going down and it was wicked cold. Our walk lasted approximately 7 minutes.
Bring on summer.

Hi peeps

Alex is real hard to capture an image of these days. She moves extremely fast, and she's very curious of the camera. Here she is giving all of her Virtual Friends "the rock".

Merry Christmas!

With all of the presents that Alex received this year for Christmas, she chooses to play with this Camel Back that we've had for years.
Christmas was a total success this year. Alex got 2 more dollies and a dolly stroller. She woke up this morning at the crack of 7, and all I could hear (through the monitor) was, "Rae, Rae, Rae". Apparently she thinks all baby dolls are named Rae.

Uncles

Uncle T-Rav and Uncle Gary admiring the cut of Alex's jibb. She's been working out hard these days and she wanted to show off her abs.

Joyce and Alex

Aunty Josa and the chicken having fun on Christmas Eve.

gun show

Bapa was teaching Alex how to show off her guns.

Our little swimmer

Alex was real thirsty after swimming today. She has gained so much confidence since she started walking. She got splashed in the face like a million times by all the kids on Christmas Vacation and she wasn't even scared.

Mamamamamamamama

Alex says "Mama" no less than 400 times a day. Enjoy.

Jingle Bell Jog

The chicken and I "ran" the Jingle Bell Jog this morning with Dawn the Great and Kerry. It is a race that a neighborhood family puts together.
Alex didn't win, but she was the youngest competitor (next to Rae).
Braden and K-man both PR'd today, and fancy pants Macie was "new shoes fast".

Reindeer poopie

Everyone poops. I'm just relieved that Santa and his Reindeer know how to find our house.

Stay golden pony boy...

Meet Liz and Cher. Cher is the one wearing the a-mazing boots. Liz is the one with the voice of an angel, and if you heard her say, "peanut buuuuuuuuuuter", you would immediately love her.
Anywho, they bought Alex this pony. It was the sweet taste of victory leaving their party with a pony tucked under my arm. Everyone got a gift, but none so great as a freaking pony!
"Stay golden Pony boy." Can anyone guess the movie?

The girls

I went to a Christmas party tonight by myself on a counta BFF and Alex have the mocus. The house is on lockdown until they're healthy.
This is how I left my girls...hard to leave sometimes. I knew Alex would take good care of BFF.

Grandpa and Judy

Grandpa and Judy are in town from Detroit this week. We went to the Aquarium. When we were leaving, Alex said, "bye fish, bye fish, bye fish".

Who are you wearing Alex?

Who are you wearing tonight Alex?
Well, that would be panties by Huggies, and boots by Manolo Blahnik.
The Talent was really on the move for her photo shoot.

Smart Car

Alex's Smart Car started up no problem this morning.

fresh air

Little chicken rallied today for a walk to the park. Thank you for all of the well wishes, I think she's gonna feel better tomorrow.

donut face

Alex has been hit with the trifecta, croup, ear infection, and teething. Her face looks like a glazed donut from the snot shmear. Rae, however, feels great.

Croup e doop

"Croup, croup e doop, croup e doop e doop e doop."
Remember that song by TLC? (shoop, shoop e doop)
If I didn't know better, I would have thought that Alex was out all night at an Ozzy concert smoking pack after pack of cigarettes. Her voice is real raspy. But apparently, the Doctor thinks she has Croup and an ear infection. Poor little chicken is miserable.
It looks like a lot of steamy baths are in her future.

40 degrees is the new 60 degrees

After 10 days of sub-zero weather, we finally got some much needed Vitamin D today. Alex was VERY happy to be outside, until she slipped and got Dora's hair all snowy, that was a disaster.

rental vacuum

This kid has got to start pulling her own weight around here. I rented her a vacuum this month.

miss thang

Now that Alex has learned to walk, SHE WALKS, AND WALKS AND WALKS AND TALKS.
She paces around and talks with her hands.

tickle time all the time

It feels like Fargo outside.
Alex and I have made the best of it by increasing the frequencies of "tickle time". Yesterday we made a HUGE pile of pillows, tickled each other, wrestled, then we watched "TOY STORY" (grassroots style, on VHS). Then we made chili and cornbread just in time for Mommy to come home from work.
Whew, can you believe we packed all of that into just one day?

I like your swagger sister

Alex wanted to show off her "mad walking skills" at the indoor playground today. Do you see that little girl in the picture sitting on the blue hippity hop?
She was climbing the ladder in front of us today, when she turned around and said,
"I'm a FIRE MAN. I'm going up here to save people. You and your baby can't come up here because this is man's work."
Well said sister. I like your attitude.

SHREK 2 with Uncle Trav

Alex and Uncle Travis watched "SHREK 2" tonight. Alex can totally reach in for her snack and not take her eyes of the feature presentation.

Dance party USA

Dancing after her bath. Um, I guess Rae was tired.

Caught ya!

With Bob as her accomplice, Alex rifles through the fridge.

wicked cold

It's wicked cold here in Colorado...doesn't seem to phase the chicken though. She keeps pointing to the window wanting to go outside.

Man cold

While I do not live with any men, I know a couple...sit back and enjoy.

Winter Wonderland with Rae

Alex and Rae went for a walk in the Winter Wonderland. Alex REALLY doesn't like when things stick to her hands (in this case it's fake snow). She will stop whatever she is doing and shout, "MAAAAAA-MA, MAAAAAA-MA", until we wipe her hands clean of said object.

Santa you smell like whiskey

Alex was perfectly content sitting on Santa's lap, for like a nano-second. Click on the image to enlarge.

This picture was taken exactly one year ago.
FYI Virtual Friends: I'VE BEEN HIT. Nasty kid virus' are extremely contagious. I think they are even transmitted over the Internets.

Aquarium playground

The chicken and I went to the Aquarium today. Here she is in HER favorite part, the playground. She ran around giggling, ate a snack, and giggled some more.

hola tigre

Alex and the tiger were paw to paw. He kept licking his lips and pacing while she was banging on the glass trying to pet him.

Mommy rocks!

This is just one more reason why I think Alex is lucky to have 2 Mommies. I got home from work this morning and found out that BFF, aka Mommy, slept right here next to Alex last night. Alex had a fever all day on Thanksgiving and Mommy was worried enough to sleep next to her. I'm happy to report that the chicken does not have H1N1 or Strep Throat. The Doctor says that she has an ear infection and some sort of kid virus.

New Favorite TV show

I didn't know I was pregnant : TLC

(This show is A-Mazing. Yesterday I saw a woman who didn't know she was pregnant with twins until they were delivered at 38 weeks! When she began to experience labor pains, she went to the Chiropractor. The first baby was a big surprise, but the second baby...holy cow, you've got to see this show. Another lady didn't know she was pregnant until she delivered her baby girl in the toilet. When she heard the baby crying, she asked her husband - and I quote - "The coyotes sure are noisy tonight honey, and my gas pains are totally gone.")

New Favorite Song

Bad Romance : Lady GaGa
Get out your whistles and chaps, people, this song is legit.

Zombie

Alex's new walking style resembles that of a Zombie. She puts her arms straight out in front of her and doesn't bend her legs. But don't make fun, cuz she's a quick study. She will stare at you and do EXACTLY whatever it is that you are doing. She was imitating me on the computer the other day by scratching the computer key board and glancing up at the screen.

Just resting

Taking a breather.

10 year warranty, seriously

I have been SUPER excited about the bean bag I ordered for Alex. Just ask BFF, I've been talking non-stop about this pink camo bean bag with the 10 year warranty! Amazing.
Our dream came true yesterday when it arrived in the mail!
Here is the chicken, Dora, and Mac n' Cheese (green frog), putting the new bean bag to the test in front of Madagascar Christmas.

"Rae, Rae, Rae, Rae, Rae.."

Alex doesn't let Rae get very far from her these days. This is Alex calling, "RAE, RAE, RAE, RAE, RAE" at our outing to the Rec Center.

Cracker

Alex's new trick is asking for a cracker in sign language. She'll pull this move at the most inconvenient times.

Sad face

Meet Alex's sad face. She cries her eyes out whenever we get out of the pool.

Hey look at me!

Alex started walking for real on her own in the last couple of days. She's real proud of herself.

I'm a toddler!

Alex became a toddler in the last 2 days.
I'm not even kidding. TODD-LER.
As in, throw a tantrum in the mall toddler, as in, I want to do everything you're doing toddler, as in, human wrecking ball toddler, as in, I can do it myself toddler, as in, the only time I'm still is when I'm sleeping toddler, as in, eat the same meal for 8 days then hate that meal suddenly toddler, as in I want to hit you then hug you toddler...

Shrek in bed

TV in bed is the BEST.
