mocus

Alex is under the weather this week. Keep her in your thoughts.
We're going to get a real professional to look inside her ears next week.

sleep over

BFF had a crowded bed while I was away at work. Kiddos and Kitty had a sleep over in the popcorn-filled sheets.

Yea Rae

I moved the slide inside so that Alex could get plenty of practice during this cold and muddy spring in Colorado.
I usually clap for Alex when she gets to the bottom of the slide, however this time I didn't because I didn't want to hear my cheers on the video, so Alex made Rae celebrate her victory.

Alex and Hulk 2009 and 2010

These photos were taken exactly 1 year apart.
Hulk sure is getting smaller.

More bubbles?

Alex will be 19 months old this week.
Last night in the bathtub, she farted. Then she looked up at me and said,
"Bubbles? More bubbles mama. More bubbles."
She is soooooo funny. BFF and I are enjoying every second of our little chicken.

night night

This is Alex's little buddy Lilly. They have a lot in common. Neither one of them will let anyone but their moms pick them up.
Every night, Alex whispers "night night" to Ri-Ree.

BR

I miss you Billy Rae.
Are you out there? Let's hang out.

Siesta Key 5K

I decided to run a 5K race on the beach on Saturday.
My Virtual Friends can look for me on the right hand side of this picture with a blue shirt and a visor.
I was only deep in the pain cave for about 10 of the 20 minutes...unlike bike racing which is at least 1 hour of torture.

#126

I was the last person to register on a counta my sleeping in because my little buddy wanted to socialize during the wee hours.
This way I am sure how many participants were in the race.

The Big Weiner

Look! I WON!
I was 7th place overall, and the 1st female finisher. The wind was at my back.
I won a beautiful Orchid and a haircut.
My only regret is not wearing the medal that's in my hand for this picture.
(However, I did wear the medal the rest of the day on the beach in my bikini...nasty, nasty tan line)

Bubble Gum Toes

All the girls got their nails painted with Bubble Gum Pink polish.

A rare photo opportunity

Look at the Ladies all stacked up in the background.
From the left:
Alex's Grandma Mary Jane, Alex's Great Grandma Mimi, Alex's Grancie, and Alex's Great Aunt Dee Dee.

RI-REE

Sooooo many pictures to download, and too tired to make it happen tonight.
However, Alex has made a friend down here, she is a cute little dog named Lilly.
Alex calls her, "RI-REE". (That accent must be from the Asian side of the family.)

The Gulf of Mexico

We call this outfit the "Charlie's Angel Outfit".

train harder

Alex is in training for the "strong baby competition".
We call this exercise, EMPTY THE OCEAN.

Hippy Drumming

Alex and I planned on joining the smelly hippies for the Sunday night drumming circle. We followed the smell of the wacky tobacky, which led us right to the drummers. Then I noticed the Tsunami in the background. So I loaded up my little hippy in the superfast buggy, and hauled the mail outa there.

Drumming circle of 1

We had our own little drumming circle closer to home.
The chicken is intense when she is drumming.

"Mama, I love the 941."

Alex thinks she's in heaven. She goes from 1 water activity to the next, ALL DAY LONG.
Then when she's done, she gets a bath.

Noodling

We told Alex not to look the fish in the eye while she is "noodling".
Nice work on the snake eyes, chicken.
(And snake eyes is the secret to the competitive game of 4 square, WHICH happened to be your Mama's super power when she was in grade school.)

941 here we come

The Easter Bunny made it Nana and Bapa's house too! Can you believe it?!
We are headed to the 941 for some much needed sunshine.
Tune in later in the week for some sand-eating, bikini-wearing, curly-haired goodness.

Cuz she's my best friend...

Rae got dipped.
I have been noticing that Rae has managed to work herself into almost every picture that we have of Alex.

Easter egg hunt #1

Easter egg hunt #1 was bunk. It was craaaaaazzzzy windy, and the 2 year olds cleaned up. See the 2 bruisers behind Alex? Yeah, this wasn't their first rodeo.
Alex was happy with her 1 egg however.

#2

Easter egg hunt #2 was more her speed.

Green Machine

This is the Big Wheel of the New Millenium.
Just so you know, the helmet is not hers, it belongs to the owner of the Green Machine.

Big girl

Alex can finally do the slide all by herself, and she's real proud.
She did this about 80 times, and each time she would spend a few seconds to clear her hands of grass specs before her next run.

We're stressed

Virtual Friends,
It's been a bumpy road here at the homefront the past few days. You see, Alex has been plagued with ear infections since she started cutting teeth. She's working on her 6th ear infection right now! We've decided to take her off the bottle completely in hopes that her ears will clear up. Our poor little chicken is having a rough time adjusting...actually we're all having a hard time adjusting.
I've never been a fan of the "Cry It Out" method, but here we are, letting her cry it out.
Alex, if you're reading this, I hope you know that we love you, and that we cried too.
I hope we're doing the right thing...
Parenting is seriously stressful.

On another note, Alex says:
Cheese when she sees trees or geese
Moons when she sees balloons
nonos when she sees windows
and Buzz when she wants to watch "Toy Story".
