Aquarium playground

The chicken and I went to the Aquarium today. Here she is in HER favorite part, the playground. She ran around giggling, ate a snack, and giggled some more.

hola tigre

Alex and the tiger were paw to paw. He kept licking his lips and pacing while she was banging on the glass trying to pet him.

Mommy rocks!

This is just one more reason why I think Alex is lucky to have 2 Mommies. I got home from work this morning and found out that BFF, aka Mommy, slept right here next to Alex last night. Alex had a fever all day on Thanksgiving and Mommy was worried enough to sleep next to her. I'm happy to report that the chicken does not have H1N1 or Strep Throat. The Doctor says that she has an ear infection and some sort of kid virus.

New Favorite TV show

I didn't know I was pregnant : TLC

(This show is A-Mazing. Yesterday I saw a woman who didn't know she was pregnant with twins until they were delivered at 38 weeks! When she began to experience labor pains, she went to the Chiropractor. The first baby was a big surprise, but the second baby...holy cow, you've got to see this show. Another lady didn't know she was pregnant until she delivered her baby girl in the toilet. When she heard the baby crying, she asked her husband - and I quote - "The coyotes sure are noisy tonight honey, and my gas pains are totally gone.")

New Favorite Song

Bad Romance : Lady GaGa
Get out your whistles and chaps, people, this song is legit.

Zombie

Alex's new walking style resembles that of a Zombie. She puts her arms straight out in front of her and doesn't bend her legs. But don't make fun, cuz she's a quick study. She will stare at you and do EXACTLY whatever it is that you are doing. She was imitating me on the computer the other day by scratching the computer key board and glancing up at the screen.

Just resting

Taking a breather.

10 year warranty, seriously

I have been SUPER excited about the bean bag I ordered for Alex. Just ask BFF, I've been talking non-stop about this pink camo bean bag with the 10 year warranty! Amazing.
Our dream came true yesterday when it arrived in the mail!
Here is the chicken, Dora, and Mac n' Cheese (green frog), putting the new bean bag to the test in front of Madagascar Christmas.

"Rae, Rae, Rae, Rae, Rae.."

Alex doesn't let Rae get very far from her these days. This is Alex calling, "RAE, RAE, RAE, RAE, RAE" at our outing to the Rec Center.

Cracker

Alex's new trick is asking for a cracker in sign language. She'll pull this move at the most inconvenient times.

Sad face

Meet Alex's sad face. She cries her eyes out whenever we get out of the pool.

Hey look at me!

Alex started walking for real on her own in the last couple of days. She's real proud of herself.

I'm a toddler!

Alex became a toddler in the last 2 days.
I'm not even kidding. TODD-LER.
As in, throw a tantrum in the mall toddler, as in, I want to do everything you're doing toddler, as in, human wrecking ball toddler, as in, I can do it myself toddler, as in, the only time I'm still is when I'm sleeping toddler, as in, eat the same meal for 8 days then hate that meal suddenly toddler, as in I want to hit you then hug you toddler...

TV in bed is the BEST.

Big and Little Alex

We went to THE BEST indoor playground ever today. Alex had a blast. She met another girl named Alex (4 1/2 year old). Big Alex wouldn't let other kids near little Alex. She would say, "Babies are delicate, go away". I really liked big Alex.

I digress

Alex and I were listening to Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana" whilst eating breakfast this morning.
I changed the words to "You eat your Ba-na-na". And sometimes I sing, "Tinkle tinkle little star" while I'm going to the bathroom. In fact, I can barely hold a conversation with adults these days. I really don't have much more to talk about other than poopie, doggies, horsies, doggie poopie, nap time, and boogies.
CALL ME SOMETIME, let's talk.

"HI WIERDOS"

Alex and I walked down by the river today. She brought Rae, and Rae's stroller.
Alex would say "Hi" to the oddest people. She wouldn't even make eye contact with the "normal-looking people", but if a wierdo was approaching, Alex would wave and say "HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI."
These strange people would have no choice but to wave, or address her in some way.
Alex is such a goofball.
And by the way, this is the last time you will ever see these glasses. My little buddy was mocking me, by putting these glasses on her head, one too many times...

your mattress is not fire proof...

Dear Alex,
I hope you never smoke. Falling asleep while puffing on a cigarette like this is, a real fire hazard.
Love Mama

(This is not a cigarette, Virtual Friends, this is fruit twist. A fruit twist is the perfect reward for an H1N1 vaccination.)

My little salad shooter

If you're a meat and potatoes kind of person, plug your ears before you read this. Let me tell you what Alex had for dinner tonight...
Miso soup with tofu and carrots and greens
Smoothie with apple juice, spinach, mango, banana and carrots
Can I get a "HOLLA"?
Alex is finally eating her vegetables!!!!! It was real messy too!

FIRST EVER CAPTION CONTEST

Make your own caption. The winner of the caption contest will receive a super special something (from Alex herself) in the mail. Please post your captions in the "comments" section below the picture. Keep it clean, this is a PG-13 blog. All entries must be received by 20:00 on Saturday night.

little swimmer

We went swimming today for something different. For the first 15 minutes, Alex hung on my neck like a baby monkey. She was a little scared at first, but got used to the water quickly. I made motorboat noises with my mouth, and she thought that was the funniest thing in the entire world. (I really love that she thinks I'm funny, cuz I get sick of my own jokes.)

aaaaahhhhhhhh

The gift of gab, if only I knew what she was saying.

smash face

Um, Hi.

Musical genius

10 weeks of intensive music class has come to an end. I would have given Alex an A+ for class participation and listening.

Hello everyone and everything

Alex and Rae and I walked down by the river today. ALEX WAS SO PROUD TO BE WALKING HER OWN BABY. There were a lot of moms walking their babies. Alex talked to everyone, and everything.
When I would grab the stroller to point Alex in the right direction, she would swat my hand away and make an unhappy grunt. She is such a big girl.

Pointing and talking

Walking and talking

Reading to Rae

Alex stops to read Rae her book.

Hey, watcha doin chicken?

Alex and I cut the grass today for the final time this season. It took approximately 30 minutes.
That was 30 minutes for her and her needle-like fingernails to be picking at the mole on the back of my neck. SERIOUSLY THE ENTIRE TIME.
The way I figure, it will only take a couple more "backpack sessions", and she will have my mole entirely removed.

Teenager baby

Our little teenager baby loves talking on the cell phone.

the leaves continue to fall

My little buddy was real helpful today raking leaves. We both came inside looking like Pig Pen from Charlie Brown (the kid that always had the cloud of dust around him).

Gimme the rock

Alex loves giving people the rock. She will give her duck the rock. When she's eating, she will take a bite, then reach out to give everyone at the table the rock. We're trying to teach her how to "blow it up" after the rock is given.

Cuz she's my be-est friend..."

Yes, this picture is a good indication of Alex's love for her new stroller for Rae. Alex periodically will stop, bend down to Rae, give her kisses, then she will continue on her way.
This picture reminds me of that song, "...cuz she's my be-est friend!"

dog and pumpkin

Jack and Alex will love Halloween as soon as their parents let them eat candy.
This picture is going to look amazing when I put it next to their Prom picture together in 15 years.

pumpkin and her dolly

BFF and I dressed Alex up as a pumpkin and went trick or treating, urban style. It's where all of the vendors in a trendy part of town, hand out candy. I'm not sure where exactly this picture was taken, because, seriously, it was standing room only for most of it.
I was excited for Halloween, but mostly I am looking forward to switching our clocks back to standard time. That means Alex goes to bed 1 hour earlier!!!

Who is it?

It's Bapa and Nana behind those masks.

First soaker

If you're a Keeley, or married to a Keeley, you know what a "soaker" is.
It's when the water that you have just accidentally stepped in, penetrates through your shoe and sock and soaks your foot. With all of this snow melt, Alex was bound to get her first soaker.
