Sam and Alex

We had a play date with Sam today.  Here are the two brainiacs putting this puzzle together.

Alex loved this dump truck

Sam had the coolest toys.  Alex would like a dump truck please.

Our little baby nerd

Alex loves her books more than anything now.  Here she is with her current favorite, titled "Tails".  We're raising a nerd.

Healing poodle

We went over to Aunt Melanie and Uncle Tiffany's house for the Holiday weekend.  They have 3 (substandard) poodles.  The youngest poodle is gonna work in hospitals and make people smile.  Alex put her through some rigorous hair pulling training.

John and Kate...full of HATE

I am furious.  John and Kate, splitting up????  No way!

I heart Kate.  I know her hair looks like a hairdo from the Flock of Seagulls, but I like her.  She is no non-sense, she loves her kids, she is hella organized, and I LIKE HER.  There I said it.
And John...well he has hair plugs.

But I didn't see this one coming.  Imagine how YOU would feel if Oprah and Gail broke up?
That's how upset I am.

BFF just let me know that we're never doing a reality TV show cuz it ruins people, and their relationships.

What's next?  The "little people" messing around on each other at the yearly convention?

I need some support right now Virtual Friends...

Salty carrots

Salty carrots.  Click on the picture, it's proof that she cries sometimes.

Nuggets Game

Mommy and Alex watching the Nuggets.  We rented Alex a hoop for the month through the toy rental progam that Alex's friend Sam told us about.  It's great, we get 4 new toys every 30 days, and we mail back the old ones.
I wish we could rent her clothes, because she's growing out of them every 30 days!

Botanical Gardens

We went to the Botanical Gardens today with Pretty Lady.
Alex liked being sprayed with the sprinklers the most.  We parked her in front of the sprinkler, and she must have sat there giggling for 5 minutes.

She's gonna crawl soon

Alex loved being eye to eye with all of the plants and flowers.  I think she's close to crawling folks...

A-Mazing talents at 7.5 months

Alex went swimming today!
We set up the pool in the back yard.  (It's the size that you would put a pet turtle in...perfect for the chicken.)
She is a funny kid.  If there is a speck on your clothes, or on the carpet, she will make it her mission to use all of her super concentrating powers to remove said speck.  The dexterity in her digits is A-MAZING.
The other thing she's been doing lately, is plucking my collarbone with her index finger as if it were a guitar string.  It's creepy feeling, but I let her do it cuz I love her.

play date

Today Alex had a play date with the older kid across the street, Jack.
He is cute and gentle.  Alex can be aggressive when she's excited.  I hope they ask us back.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to us!
Holy cow, I can't even believe it.  Being a Mom is the greatest thing in the whole world.

flapping her arms

You can almost hear her through this picture.  She was real excited.  Good thing Jack can crawl.

Little Birdman

What's up Birdman?
Alex is a baller.

I'M BACK!!

I'M BACK!!!!
It wasn't really a "sun's out guns out" kind of day, but we mowed the lawn anyway.
I really put Alex's allergies to the test today.
I'm sure my Virtual Friends know me well enough to know that I absolutely love cutting the grass.  This was the first mow of the season.  I'm relatively happy with the pattern I chose.

The Zoo was bunk

Alex and I went to the Denver Zoo today.  This was the glassy-eyed look she gave me right at the entrance.
Hmmmmmmm, I see where this is going.

First stop...

First stop, the seals.  This ought to wake her up.

Zebra Ice Cream

Next stop, the Zebra ice cream station.  Still sleeping.

Sleeping baby at the elephants

This little girl was more interested in the sleeping baby than the elephants.

Nice buns

Nice buns big guy.

Colorful birds

The Tucans.

pink birds

The Flamingos.

hello monkey

Little guy and I were eye-to-eye.
We're outa here buddy, Alex is waking up.

Nice work chicken!!!

She looks thinner right?
I am still recovering from the "poo debacle of '09".
Alex was in her exersaucer (read circle of neglect) when said poo came out.
She earned herself an immediate bath.  Here she is in the back yard, very proud of her work.
Oh yeah, she can clap now.  That is SUPER advanced for a 7 month old.

power wash the poo

This was real serious.  I had to power wash her clothes and changing table cover.
I really contemplated just throwing it all away.  (I didn't, mostly because my post pardum carbon footprint is already that of a dinosaur.)

Para bailar la bamba

Alex is singing a song for Cinco de Mayo with her Mexican rattle.  (Actually, around these parts we call it Cinco de Violence.)
We wanted to give a "HOLLA" to Mimi Moons...we're thinking of you girl!

Happy 7 months Alex!

At 7 months she's big enough to put Hulk in the Half-Nelson.

Cheerios

She's eating Cheerios folks...one at a time.

fish hook toe

We do whatever it takes to entertain Alex these days.
Alex basically has hands for feet.  She gets that talent from my side of the family.

tummy tubs

I've been looking for a new bath tub for the chicken.
These "tummy tubs" are real popular in Europe.  They simulate life in the womb, and babies are supposed to love them.  But as some of you may recall, the Hulk and I didn't really get along that well when she was in my womb.
I'm in the market for one with quite a bit more space...any ideas readers?
