My bro and I flew to Minneapolis yesterday. We had a near-death experience. Our plane was circling the Minneapolis airport for about 30 minutes and i just knew something had gone awry. The pilot tells us that the flaps that are used to slow the plane down during the landing, are not working. He tries to reassure us that the landing is going to be normal, other than the fire trucks lining the runway. This picture is just one of the 30ish fire trucks on scene. I was making all sorts of empty promises.
I just kept picturing the nightly news headlines, "SUBDUDES go down in plane crash". The news might mention the mother and infant sitting in front of us, but my brother and I probably wouldn't get the airtime we deserve in the 10 o'clock news. I'm a nervous flyer anyway, but this was over the top.
